I feel like it was only yesterday that we were celebrating New Years Day and now Chinese New Year is upon us. It is the year of the Monkey and the people born in this year are meant to be witty, intelligent and have a magnetic personality. However, I was born in the year of the Rabbit, which means I am supposed to be conservative, diplomatic and calm. I am still trying to figure out how true that is but that’s for another day.
So far this year has been very eventful considering it has only been a month. Antoine had surgery, which went very well. Also another highlight for me is that Antoine’s picture is in the latest Clark’s campaign, so we went to one of the stores to have a look, which put a massive smile on his face. I have secured some very interesting interviews, although my first one for the year was D Dark. I hope you will continue to like the artists that I find to interview.
I still do not know what the rest of this year has in store for Antoine and myself but all I can do is to make sure we are happy regardless. I am currently sitting at my mum’s house surrounded by family and I don’t think anything can beat this feeling of being with the people you love. I am myself, no hair extensions, no nails, no make up and it does not matter because I am still the same person. I wish I had learnt to love myself a lot earlier in life, as it is true that once you are happy with yourself then it takes a lot to bring you down. I am not by any means going to act like I am not upset sometimes. At the end of last year I was very sad but I knew I would get over it and I am very conscious now that you can survive anything, it is just about switching your mind-set.
So as we go into the Chinese New Year if you need to use this one as a new start instead of the first of January then do it. Make your goals again, stick to them this time and progress. I am a strong believer that things can happen if you are determined enough just like my book. I may be the next biggest author but I would never know if I don’t try, so I will try and like I always say the sky could be the limit.
